If the showing of Indian athletes in the
Commonwealth Games in 2002 (Manchester) is any indication, then I expect the Indian contingent to come back with more than just
one medal. It has been 2 years since then, but lets hope for the best.
Wishing the best to the Indian sportspersons and hoping they will put up a respectable show.

Economists at a global accounting major and mgmt consultant company have predicted that India would win 10 medals at the Athens.
In a press statement, a "model estimate" by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC) gave India the 27th position in the overall medals tally in a list predicting the top 30 countries. Interestingly, the PWC list, while saying the US would again lead the tally, predicted America would win 70 medals -- 27 less than at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
India has won a total of eight gold medals and one silver, all in hockey, apart from five bronze medals in the 104-year history of the games.
Although we can only hope India will create a new history at Athens !!
Impressive piece of information. Lets see if PWC's statistical means are really to be believed. The only problem is, does India have the athletes to overcome the one medal syndrome
